USA! ⚽️

We are speechless. Perhaps also numb.

It’s only been 13 months of being cancer free and 1.5 years of being an amputee and Jordan has officially made the USA Amputee Soccer team, competing at the Gold Cup in Honduras in September!! It’s truly unbelievable.

Here is a picture of Jordan immediately following his surgery on November 28, 2022. The World Cup was going on and he watched every single match.

And here is a picture on his first day home post surgery (about one week later).

The combination of his perseverance and simple love for the sport of soccer gave him the chance to follow his dreams. We will keep you all up to date on the socials, and here, as our trip to Honduras unfolds.

Meanwhile, Jordan is heading back to Long Island for one more training camp at the start of August with his new team to prepare to bring home the cup in September. 🤞

There are fundraising efforts underway to help fund the team’s travel expenses to Honduras. You can learn more and donate (no pressure) here https://usampsoccer.networkforgood.com/projects/229118-2024-gold-cup-in-honduras

What a roller coaster! About 2 months ago, Jordan said “I love being an amputee.” The stars are aligning.

With Love and Light,

The CO Obies

It is beyond words to express the thrill I feel for Jordan’s amazing journey. I met this wonderful young man recently, sweet, kind, gracious, but obviously a person with incomparable drive and determination. Doesn’t brag, doesn’t complain … just moves forward. It is a real testament to his strong character. There will be no holding Jordan back. And now we learn that he has earned a place on the USA Soccer Team and is competing for the Gold Cup in Honduras. I am so proud of him.

BTW… here’s a shout out to his beautiful sister, Sami, who has stood by his side… and to his fantastic parents who have gone through the ups and downs of Jordan’s struggle. May…

Given the roller coaster, might be a good time to pinch yourself. The resilience is no joke. Says a lot about Jordan - and also about his parents... Congratulations to you all.
